1984 B2000 SE-5 - Bent axle

So I've "recently" confirmed that my B2000 has a bent rear axle, and needs a new one. I can almost feel it shaking apart at 60mph. Naturally I don't want to drive like that. Axle straightening, I've heard, is really expensive, if even possible. So, new axle it is.

I'm loaded with the 5-speed manual transmission, the 3.308 differential, and counted 30 splines when I pulled the axle earlier today.

Searching online, I'm met with two options: an entire rear end for $500 and shipping from California to Maryland; or just an axle with not much information tied to it, for $150 and shipping from Arizona. The poor picture quality (pics attached) makes it hard to count the splines on the latter, and the seller posts no contact info to ask for a clearer picture or description.

What I'm asking now is if anyone here is closer than Arizona, with a parts truck they could rip one off of; some tips for ordering off a custom axle shop; or any hidden gems they know of online.

Update

I sent for a new axle from Moser. Fingers crossed I got all my measurements right and get a working axle back. The old one is completely destroyed from me hammering the bearing off. Fingers double-crossed I don't destroy the bearing putting it back on.

I would take the axle to a shop and have them PRESS it into place.

Yeah, that's what I ended up deciding I'd do.

New update

Just got off the phone with Moser. They say they can't make the axle I need. They just don't have one close enough that they can mill down. So, still looking for leads.

If I happen to come across one here in Florida, I will snag it for you!

Thanks homie! Maybe even save it for the next guy if I find one first.

Currently pursuing the one on eBay, with the blurry pictures. There's no variation in spline count between different same-year B-series, right?

I am not sure of that buddy......I have not messed with the first gen trucks much. If the 1st Gen ARE the same as the 1986-1993 trucks, I do have several rear ends for those trucks. On the weekend I could drag one of them out and measure the axle to see for you. Let me know.

They might be the same axle. The part numbers are pretty close: 8788-26-111A for the 79-84; UB71-26-111A for the 86-93. I reckon it might've just been updated for the times.

I will get some measurements this weekend for you.......but if they have a different part number, something is different between them, otherwise Mazda would have used the same earlier part number, I would think. It may be the diameter of the axle, or the spline count. Your axle is 6-lug......right?
