Mazda BT 50 & Pickup TrucksWhile Mazda may not be known for their trucks, they have always produced quality reliable trucks for both hauling cargo, or simply crusing. BT 50
Some have stuffed rope into a cylinder after removing a spark plug, to prevent the engine from turning. Axel Breaker has removed his starter and made a flywheel retainer tool
Yes.....I made that for my B2600i 2WD auto trans truck to loosen the HB 21mm bolt......and that is why I asked if it were a manual trans or not.
So, I would try to put the truck in 4th gear or so, and then block the tires so the truck doesn't roll, and try to loosen the 21mm bolt with a 1/2" drive pull bar and a short length of pipe slipped over the breaker bar. If the clutch disc is good, you should be able to loosen, and then afterwards, tighten the 21mm bolt by doing this.
Well 4th gear was the trick!! That bolt popped right out (with a 2 breaker bar) and the HB slid right off.
Thank yall so much for your help. I will definitely have a much more relaxed trip knowing I am just an hour away from sliding on a new HB along with the belts and fan. Now off on the road trip (and to hunt a new HB)!

So ..looking at my HB vs other used ones I noticed the same gap between the front two pulleys and the third. Do you see that ~ 1/16 gap between pulley 1 and 2??? Do all (including new) crankshaft pulleys look like that?? I thought it was just mine since those front 2 are the ones that were sliding forward into the Dan and off the HB drum.
