Default Water Pump and 1st cylinder Misfire

I have an 89 323 SE 1.6L SOHC non-turbo. I believe that my water pump is broken b/c my engine seriously overheats and doesn't retain any coolant whatsoever. I can go about 5 miles b4 I have problems with teh temperature. Because it's so hot, the car doesn't wanna start whenever I add coolant or anything else to it. I recently took a trip and stopped 7 times b/c of the problem. What usually takes me 45 minutes to get to took me about 3 hours. I'm tryin to remove the water pump;however, I don't know where it is. does anyone have a diagram or any thoughts as to what the problem could be?

Also, my 1st cylinder is misfiring very badly. I'm not sure if it's the distributor cap or the button or something else. But I do know that the constant misfire is really annoying. Anyone got an suggestions?

Default RE: Water Pump and 1st cylinder Misfire

I bet the two problems are related. It sounds like a head gasket problem causing the overheating as well as no compression it that cylinder causing the misfire. If you keep driving the car with a blown head gasket, it can cause irepairable damage to an aluminum cyl head.
