Did you check out the label inside the driver's door opening?

Actually, in Russia. This Mazda was purchased in Finland, rumours the car came from Emirates before that...

Sorry, it's not one built here in the States. I can't get any info for it.

I believe it would have been built in Hofu, Japan.

If you can find out how many were built that year, you could estimate it. the last 6 digits of the VIN# is where that particular vehicle lies within the production build (i.e. that was the 110,364th 626 built that production year.)

If the production year starts in September 1997 and they built ~200,000 (I'm guessing here), then it would have been built ~6.5 months into the production year. (approximating ~16,667/month) - that would make it an April to May 1998 build (roughly)

Thanks! This question appeared because I want to change fuel filter inside the fuel tank. There are three options. Which one?
1 NIPPONDENSO (JAPAN)
1 MITSUBISHI - 980401
GF1*** -182783
... - 01/04/1998 1 MITSUBISHI 980401 -
GF1***182783-
01/04/1998 - ...

Your best bet is to pull the old part and bring it into the shop you're buying the new one from and compare them to make sure it's the same one. Sorry I can't be of more help.
