I have 98 626 (4 cyl). I have two problems with the transmission, it stop shifting from 1st to 2nd, only by getting it to an high RPM (~5000) and playing with the gas pedal will shift. The other problem is that it started to slide on 4th and 3rd shift.
Mechanics told me that I need to replace the transmission. Does anybody have any info or advice. Is it worth the investment (car is in good condition otherwise)? By the way problem started a week after changing the transmission fluid, and obviously the shop who did the transmission fluid change did not take any responsibility.
