Suspension on 1992 Mazda 929
I replaced the front and back struts with used ones and have the following issues:
[ul][*]The front of the car makes a dull thud sound when I hit bumps (sounds like something is loose)[*]When I hit bumps, both the front and back of the car slides / movessideways[/ul] I think this probably means that I need to replace other suspension parts. Please respond back with your comments. Thanx, CO2MAN:D [ul][*][/ul] |

it could be that the struts you replaced the old oned with are faulty or have just been weakened previously try getting a newer set and see if that makes a difference

RE: Suspension on 1992 Mazda 929
The sound makes me think its one of two things: (1) the struts are dead like looney said or (2) it may be an endlink(s). The sliding you mentioned could be from the struts but a car with broken endlinks or anti-roll bar will behave like that too. The endlinks on the 626 are pretty puny, I haven't been able to find much, but these look better than the stock ones. http://www.car-stuff.com/exclusives/..._bar_link.html
The endlinks may not be the problem, but take a look. Hope this helped. |
