Default RE: replacing stock stereo

hey again,

I finally picked up some speakers to replace the factory ones in my '93 929. Door speakers went well but I can't seem to get to the rear ones. Does anyone know how to get at the speakers to replace them? I read somewhere else that the speaker grills get pretty brittle with age. Mine are already cracked.

Thanks
B

Hey whats up, this is just a suggestion but i would try to take the seats out cause that is the only way you are going to get to the rear speakers cause the rear deck has to come off in order to get to the speakers. There should be two levers that you pull to the right on each side (Passenger and Driver side) of the bottom of your rear seats, when you slide the lever the your rears seats should slide out, after that you should have 3 12mm bolts holding the back rests, take those off and then you can take your rear deck off, then you can access your rear speakers. Now if you can find a way to take the deck off in the back without taking the seats out then that would be even better for you, but regardless your deck has to come out to access the speakers. Let me know what you do
