Hi Guys,

I am owner of Mazda 323F, 1997, R registration. My power aerial started with a problem. The mast come out on switching on radio without any problem, but when you switch off radio mast does not go down. A kind member of the forum suggested that change the mast, so I bought new mast from local Mazda dealer. Open the motor and replaced the aerial but with new mast, I still have the same problem. I think that there was nothing wrong with my old mast, because I could not see any physical damage on the cord. It mean possibly another mechanical part inside motor is faulty. Can someone kindly tell me know from your experience from identical problem solution or help. I will appreciate your input.

 

I would think it is a problem with the relay. I do not know if it has an internal or external relay as I have no wiring diagrams for a 323"F" model. This relay should sense when the power is supplied to the antenna to lower or raise it. The US model 323's never had a factory power antenna.
