Newbie = me

hey to everyone who reads this,
I just joined like 40 seconds ago and I figured some of you would be able to help me out.
I am a first time owner of a 1991 Mazda 626 GT (turbo 5spd)

Do any of you know anything I should look out for or to be aware of?
The car I own needs floor work, hand break cables, calipers in the rear and strut mount.

I don't know much about the car, I know it's pretty fast and can hold it's own
any of you ever own this type of car?
If you have anything to tell me it is much appriciated.
Thanks

P.S. Here is a website where you can view my car

RE: Newbie = me

Not many things that your car had failures with. Most common was a warped exaust manifold that made a loud tapping type noise mostly when cold. Sounds like you have a car from the east coast or midwest due to needing floor work and brake cables. Glad I live in the northwest where we do not use salt on the roads that really cause a lot of problems with underbody. Hope you have a good handle on the torque steer that the cars have when the turbo kicks in. It has caught me off guard a time or two.

Thanks for the reply,
I think I have the warped exhaust manifold,
it ticks quite loudly when cold... :(
Do you know if it will harm the performance of my car, or do any damage to my engine/turbo??

I live in Newfoundland, and sadly we are heavy on the salt up here...
