New member, need help with 02 626 idle problem!!
Hello all. I am the original owner of a 2002 626 with the 2.5l V6.
For over a year now, I have a problem with the idle when the vent/AC or heater is turned on. Once the cooling fan kicks in, my rpm's jump by about 300 to 500 RPM's but only when in gear. When the shifter is in park, the idle only fluctuates by maybe 20 rpm. When the car is on the freeway, I can feel the RPM's kick up by about 20 rpm. When in second or third gear, doing under 45 MPH, the rpm's kick up about 200 rpm's
I have installed new spark plugs, cleaned the MAF sensor out and replaced the plug wires. The alternator is only a couple of years old. I tried un-plugging the alternator and the fans but when the relay kicks on, the problem still persists.
Any input on the problem would be greatly appreciated or even if someone knows where I can find a good online source for information, that would be very helpful too.
Thanks, Tony.
