Default Need help with low idle/rough acceleration

My car has a low idle and the check engine light is on.

I changed the spark plugs and the air filter. I also cleaned the throttle body and the MAF sensor but this did not solve the problem.

For now I have unplugged the MAF sensor and the car runs better for it.

What is weird is that I decided to put a can of BG 44K through the car and surprisingly the check engine light went away after a few days (even though the MAF was still unplugged). But, within another day or two it came back on.

What could the problem be?

- Low idle
- Rough acceleration occasionally/Lack of power

You need a new MAF. Unplugging and better running indicates a failing MAF. Do that first or you'll run yourself in circles.
