Mazda 626 Driver Side Door Actuator

I'm new to the forum, and I was wondering if anybody ever had to change out the actuator on the driver side door. My power lock doesn't seem to work on that door. I have a 2000 Mazda 626 V6 Manual Transmission. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Mazda 626 Driver Side Door Actuator

Welcome to the forum dalex2u.[sm=smiley17.gif].

The power lock actuator is part of the latch assembly and not available as a separate part. Not to expensive though. Mazda part #GD7B-58-310B retails for $44.15 and available from www.onlinemazdaparts.com for a bit less at $37.53.

Fairly straightforward to install new. Pic at bottom is to aid in removing the door panel. Not a very good pic for latch r and r but once you get the panel off you just carefully peel the clear plastic vapor barrier out of the way. Try not to tear as it also keeps water from getting inside the car past your scuff plate. The black goo that is used to hold the vapor barrier on is usually easier to work with when is cold but a dampened finger can be used to keep it from getting all over the place. Disconnect electrical connector for lock. Remove all four lock rods front their attachments at inner and outer handle as well as inner lock and key cylinder. New rods come with the latch but sometimes are bent so try to keep old ones as close the orignial shape as possilbe. Three phillips screws to loosen from the side of the door where it would normally latch and out it comes. Goes back in the same way.

Does any one know if the door panel can be removed without opening the door

My door is locked and the door won't open from the inside or outside

Hello,

Just wondering are the rear and front actuators different? Because I went the the online mazda parts store and for some reason the back ones are almost double the price as the front....
