I changed out the alternator in my daughters car and i found an extra wire coming from the wire harness to the alternator. and the wire color is either white with a red stripe or yellow with a red stripe. does anyone know where this wire is supposed to go?

 

Hey flip. What year is the 626?. How large in diameter is the wire compared to others nearby and what kind of connector is on the end of this mystery wire?

 

you actually should have a power running from the battery to the alternator and the alternator should be grounded out. You should just see were the wire is running to.
