Keep losing power

I have a 96 model 323 which has given me excellent service over the past 4 years. I recently had my timing belt changed but since then I've found that I periodically get loss of power when I'm driving. The mechanic insists its got nothing to do with the new timing belt but its the air flow meter. I've had this changed, its got better but I'm still getting loss of power. Any ideas why?

The air filter seems fine and I've changed all the plugs. It's got a little better but the problems still there.

Timing belt heh? with gears its a little easier to set the timing becuase there are marks on the gears and chain. it sounds to me like your timing is off slightly....with a pulley its a lot harder to not accidentally let it spin a degree or two while trying to put the belt on
