Help please with '91 323 dash disconnect
 

Hey everyone,

Several months ago I took my old 323 hatchback in for service and they accidentally forgot to plug back in the dashboard so my speedo was stuck at 0. I took it back in and the tech was able to plug in half of the dash display so that my speedo works but not the fuel/eng. temp gauge. He looked around some more but was unable to find it under the steering wheel panel. He asked me to bring it back another day as they were too busy. Problem is that they're kind of far from where I live.

I've been driving like this now for months, always guessing how full my tank is based on "dead reckoning".

Where's the damn connector?

I'd suggest pulling the gauge cluster out of the dash and then you should see the harness connector hanging around in there somewhere. That is, if that's where it isn't properly connected.
Gauge cluster shouldn't be much work to remove/reinstall. I've never dealt with a 323, just my mx3 and an mx6, but neither were difficult. May need a stubby Phillips Screwdriver...

i just replaced mine a week ago... really easy to do... philips screwdriver .10 screws to remove trim . and 4 to remove the cluster . you dont have to remove the speedo cable to plug in the harness.. there are 2 of em . one on the left side . one on the right . on the drivers side there is a hidden screw. its just behind the black trim piece at the end of the dash ..just gently pry it out and you will see it...
