Default Help with my 323

Well I have a 92 323 and it seems that this time I really do have a problem that has me a little worried.

Ok this is what happens. When I go about 35 to 40 and I am slowing down the rear end feels like its kind of shaking/shuttering as I am appling the breaks but goes away when I push all the way down on the break pedal. I was guessing that it was the rear drum breaks but my friend and I pull them off and looked at the pads and they looked fine. I mean I might need new ones but this doesn't seem like it could be the problem?

I mean could it be that my struts are worn back there? I am just trying to figure what is causing this because it has me worried.

It sure sounds like the drums are out of round. If so, they need to be taken off and machined with a brake lathe. This can be done at most places like NAPA or some Autozones. Most auto repair shops can do it also.

Ok wow thats great if thats it. I can just get that done pretty quick. Cool thanks I was kind of losing my mind there.

Autozone is closer to me so I will check if they can do it first.

So I just tell them I need the to be machined with a brake lathe?

Thanks once again bkey71

Thats it, it also called getting your drums or rotors "turned".
