cooling fan problem
I have a 1986 Mazda 626 turbo and both cooling fans just started running all the time even when engine is cold and AC not turned on. I unplugged the electrical connections on the radiator thermal switch but fans still run all the time. Only way to stop them was to unplug electrical connection going to each fan. Is there a relay somewhere that is defective or what could be causing this problem?
Thanks for any help on this issue. |
Yes, there should be a cooling fan relay. Check in the electrical box under the hood. I don't have a 626 but that's the most probable location.
Look for shorts in the wiring as well. |
Thanks for your reply. I will check to see if I can find a cooling fan relay in the electrical box under the hood. Right now I have both fans disconnected so they don't run all the time and it is fine because it is cold however when the weather warms up I will need to have this problem fixed.

O.K. you have time. I am sure you can get the Haynes manual on-line for cheap. check with "A.B.E."
Our public library has the Chilton manuals too. |
