Clunking Sound--HELP!

My 1998 626 has developed a continuous clunking sound on the drivers side, front. It does not do it under acceleration, but when you let up on the gas. Is this a CV joint problem? I've only owned the vehicle for one month and this just started.
Thanks,
QT Band

RE: Clunking Sound--HELP!

Check to make sure that the caliper and caliper mount bolts on that left front corner are all there and tight. A CV joint could be causing the noise but noise from CV's are usually most predominant on a light accel when turning hard to one direction or the other at low speeds.

it might be a ball joint or motor mount too
