Default Buying Mazda 323F 1.8 SOHC-90

Hi.

I am going to have a look on a cheap 323 F with broken steering lock (it has been stolen).
What do you think the costs might be, fixing this myself? I just checked with a junk yard, and they sell a used steering lock for 50$.
Any special tools / skills needed?
Probably there are other parts that needs to be replaced too.
Are these parts around the steering shaft identical with the ordinary Mazda 323?

What else should I look out for on these models?
I am buying the car as an extra car,, I have always liked the design and I've been wanting it for a long time. So it will not be
a every-day-driving-to-work car..

Also can you recommend a service book for this model?
