There are a few things it might be but question first. Do the rest of the dash lights work ( rear defog switch, radio if OE, etc ) or just the ones behinnd the gauges? Also do you taillights and front marker lights work? Check the 15A TAIL fuse in the underdash box first. If this is burnt out, all of the dash, tail, and marker lights will be out. If fuse ok then next area to check would be the panel light control switch. Pop that switch out of dash and disconnect connector. Use a jumper wire or paper clip to short Red wire with Black stripe to the Green wire with White stripe. This should bypass the switch and dash light should all come on full bright. Don't jump to the black wire or you will blow the 15A TAIL fuse. Will post you a wire diagram if you need it.

:):):) I'm so happy right now. It was the tail fuse that hade been overloaded. I was always looking at the fuse for the dashbord. Thank you babyhuey
