I am about to buy a 1999 Mazda 323 GLXi and a I have a couple of questions about some problems that exist. I would ask locally but I have just moved to the Philippines for work from California and dont know anyone here or who is reputable (apart from the local Mazda dealer but they say they dont service this vehicle anymore)

- Stopped in traffic, a light or a stop sign the car shakes when idling. Even worse when the aircon is on. Is this a major problem? I think it could be a sensor problem. Is this typically a big deal on this model?

- At night with the lights on the dash does not illuminate very well which makes reading the speed/revs etc very difficult. Is this easy to fix?

Thanks for the help. I am trying to get insight before buying or not as I need a car quick and this is the most convenient to purchase.
