97 626 No start - help
I just did a valve job and replaced the timing belt on a 97 626 2.0 standard, all is back together but now the car won't start. I have verified the timing marks, put in new plugs and made sure all vacuum lines are plugged in. The car was running before doing the work so I am confused as to what the problem is. Someone thought maybe it was the Crank Position Sensor but I did not take it off, only thing done was to unplug it to remove other parts in the way of the head.
If it is the sensor is there a way to check it and see that this will really help to replace. Thanks for any help, Kerwin |

The basics need to be checked first.
1: Fuel pressure 2: Spark 3: Compression of each cylinder It needs to be narrowed down to a specific item and we can better help. |
RE: 97 626 No start - help
I found part of the problem, when putting on the timing belt I have the bolt on the crank pulley and when taking it off the crank is turning and causing the belt to jump a tooth. It looked like the rotor was off 180 as well. Is there an easier way of doing the belt? I had the bolt in so I could turn the engine to make sure the timing marks still lined up.
Thanks, Kerwin |
