I've recently noticed that as soon as the car starts my tail lights go on. I've nailed it down to the relay, since nothing seems to turn the tail lights off other than lifting the rear hatch past a point with the car running. Problem is I can't for the life of me find the relay. I've found the daytime running light relay which was down on the right side of the passenger footwell in front of the door, with what looks to be the combination switch next to it. What's really got me confused is the wiring diagrams in my Haynes manual (see attached pictures).
There are two diagrams for headlight circuits, both for cars 1994 or earlier but one is for cars with cruise control and one without. Now the thing is, my car as far as I know does not have cruise control. However on the diagram with cruise control it shows a 15A Tail fuse before a tail light relay. In the fuse box in my car I also have a 15A Tail fuse which has me confused. The other diagram shows a 10A Tail fuse before leading into the combination switch. So the only logical place I can think of for Schrodinger's relay is to the right of the glove box behind that trim piece. I'd really rather confirm its existence before I go ripping apart my dashboard, so do any of you have any ideas as to what's going on here? Thank you in advance Headlight diagrams Daytime running light diagram
