Can anyone help me theirs a lot of hills where i live and it takes me like 5 mins at full throttle to get up the hill to my drove way

go big or go home!
In this case: go big to go home. Little piddly intake exhaust won't do much at all. You need boost or a bigger engine! |
Could i turbo this engine or is a swap easier i'm slightly mechanically inclined but an engine swap is out of my league unless its mostly plug and play??? And thanks

as long as you keep boost around 5 psi your engine should be fine.
Try to locate a shop in your area that does aftermarket modifications and talk to them about your particular vehicle. More spark (MSD ign Coil), new iridium spark plugs with gap around 30-32. Possible upgraded fuel pump. New tranny fluid with external cooler. Fuel and ignition timing need to be addressed. You need something like (see pic). From (link-click on it): AEM F/IC Fuel / Ignition Controller - ECU Piggyback - Wideband O2 UEGO, Water/Methanol, Stand Alone Engine Management, Piggyback F/IC, Tru Boost Controller, Gauges, Automotive Performance Electronics http://www.aemelectronics.com/images/fic_cat.jpg not a bad post for # 1600! |
Thanks! I have basically a sohc version of the miata engine right?? Theirs a channel on YouTube called Mighty Car Mods and they did a video of how to turbo their miata so could i use it?

None of those videos are working, even after i click on your link.
Different years, cars have different computers. But anything is possible as long as you do not get carried away with an old engine! |
Thanks
