323 running light issue
I have a 1989 323 that I am trying to sell but I cant get it to pass inspection until the running lights are working. The rears work fine its the front lights that wont work. The headlights are fine, the fuses are fine as well as the turn signals. I cant seem to find a relay under the dash. If someone could help me out with finding the relay or if someone knows if this is a switch problem or what.

RE: 323 running light issue
Think I am understanding what is working and what is not so lets make sure. When you turn your headlight switch to first position only you should have front markerlights, tail lights, rear side marker lights that you can see from side of vehicle, license plate lights, and dash/instrument panel illumination should all be on. Which ones exactly are not coming on?

What does not come on is the front marker lights and the instrument panel lights. However some of the dash lights do come on, such as on the center part of the dash where the stereo and heater selecter are.

RE: 323 running light issue
Hello..I have the same prob on my '94 626..running and dash(speedometer etc.)lights go out when I turn right..then when the actuator returns to home they're still out until I frantically srew around with it till they come back...If I pull REAL hard on the whole swith assembly and hold it there it'll be ok till I let it go,and by that time I'm already pulled over and fiddling with it again..Sprayed the hell out of the contacts with contact cleaner but no luck..I have to remove the whole switch assy. to get at the ground contacts for that circuit but am at a loss as to how to do that..Anybody?? Thanks..Medge
