have a 1996 4 door hatch - it sounds like its running on 3 cylinders - there's no coolant in the oil - it runs (just won't idle) have replaced the spark plugs and leads- dropped valve? ehat do you think? Thanks

 

Do a compression check (gage screws into spark plug hole.) Don't start the engine, just crank it over.

If you've got a dropped valve or bad rings, that will tell you which cylinder to go after. Just look for wide variation from cylinder to cylinder.

 

Did you fix it? A faulty injector will make it run on 3 if the spark is ok. Obviously the fuel pump is ok cos the other 3 cylinders work
