2003 323 engine warning light on - heeeelp
hi all,
i have a 2003 mazda 323 1.6 gsi. this morning while driving from edinburgh to aberdeen(140 miles),it was driving fine until i slowed down at dundee (half way) for a roundabout and the engine hesitated as i was going round the roundabout.(no lights at this point, just the hesitation) all was fine until about 15 miles from aberdeen when i pulled out to overtake at about 60, the car hesitated several times, the engine management/warning light( amber engine light) flashed for about 5 seconds and then stayed on. the car seemed totally fine after this, but the light stayed on all the same. when i got to work,i switched the engine off and back on but the light came back on again(no flashing at first this time, just on). the only time the car has really hesitated before is it sometimes hesitates at slow speeds on relatively small amounts of throttle,so don't know if this is related at all.it has had the slow speed hesitation for pretty much the year i have owned it,and doesn't do it all the time. the only other weird thing the car sometimes does is if youre giving it plenty stick on motorway, sometimes several lights come on the dash and stay on until engine restarted (tcs, tcs off and abs),dont know if this is related. any help much appreciated, cheers, col |
It could be a warning message for the oxygen sensor of the emission control system. The fuel map program within the ECU may have produce a strange fuel air mixture when the sensor is not working properly, that could cause you the hesitation problem. You may have a garage or someone has a ECU message reader to see the explanation of the code. Good luck.
