1999 626 tranny temp sensor
Hello.
The daughter is getting ready to trundle off to college in her 1999 626. She says she's having some tranny problems and took it to a wrench. The wrench pulled the codes and said it was a trans temp sensor gone bad. He also told her the tranny would have to be pulled and to take it to a tranny shop. Further research suggests the sensor is located above the valve body and no trans removal is required, just the pan, filter, and valve body. I don't know which codes popped up nor have I driven the car yet. The problem is I can't find any information on replacing the temp sensor (including this forum).
Questions: What are the codes which would indicate a bad trans temp sensor? Where can I find a step-by-step on replacement? What else could I be looking at?
I did replace the speed sensor last year and adjusted it correctly.
Thanks.
