Default 1996 626 trunk drain hole?

Is there a drain hole for the trunk? I discovered the spare sitting in about two inches of water today and it had been there for some time. Everything rusting, etc. I thought of removing the trunk liner but it looks like it is all one piece and I don't quite know what I would be getting into to try and remove it.

There should be rubber bungs under the spare tyre.

You need to find where the water is entering from and repair the leak.

Default leak progress

I decided to tackle the trunk liner because it is sopping wet at the bottom and needs drying out and cleaning. I expect to get it out today. Once I have it out I will dust the dry interior of the trunk with talcum powder to see if I can detect the leak source. It is supposed to rain todayl

Usually on other cars these leaks into the trunk come from the tail lights. This is my prime suspect at the moment..

I expect the bung to be in the centre point of the tire well. Do I have that right?

I found the bung once I removed the trunk liner. As you say it is very close to the centre of the spare tire wheel well. Thanks. I think I have numerous leaks and am busy tracking them down. I have one that is entering below the bumper level so it looks like I will have to remove the bumper if i want to get at that particular leak. I am having a deuce of a time getting a service manual to download but when I do I will see what I can do to get the rear bumper off.

Thanks for your information. Much appreciated.
