1992 Mazda 929 Shock Absorbers

Sorry if this has been answered b-4 but I did search and did not find anything.
Does anyone know if the shock absorbers can be replaced in the front and rear suspesion assemblies? If so, what will fit into these? I would like to reuse the mounting plates and spring but just swap out the shock. A whole new assembly is very costly.

Thanx,
CO2Man

The front and rear shocks are completely replaceable by themselves without an entire assembly. That is how they are ususally sold. There are probably dozens of different ones that will fit your 929. Just depends on how much you want to spend and what kind of ride you want. Some are fairly soft for an easy, smooth ride and others are more stiff for those that like to really feel the road.

RE: 1992 Mazda 929 Shock Absorbers

I have searched all over the Web and called Autozone, Pep Boys, S&G Inports, Advanced Auto Parts to name a few. Shocks they offer are good for Mazda 929ers up to 1991, not after that. Suppliers searched included Monroe, Sachs, Boge. I priced strut assembly at dealer and they are $250/each. Do you know where I can find replacement shocks that will fit this car?

Thanks for your assistance,
CO2Man

You can get just the strut without getting the assembly from the dealer. The front struts are available from www.onlinemazdaparts.com for $193.84 each and rears are $153.81 each.
They are very difficult to find aftermarket. Found rears ata few sited but they want $188 each. Check out link below and see what you think. Was the only ones I could find anyway.
