1990 Mazda 323 (Protege) will not start on a rainy day

I have a strange problem with my 1990 Mazda Protege (323 - 1.8L DOHC) - the car starts up fine on a dry and sunny day but it will not start on a rainy day or if it has rained hard the previous day and there is some moisture in the air and on the windshield.

It cranks but it will not starton these kind of days buton a sunny day it will start right up like nothing is wrong with it. I had the battery amps checked and eventhough the battery is 4 years old, it iscranking out the right amps andso that can be ruled out as the problem.

One of my coworker is telling me that this is due to some moisture issues and I need to replace the rotor and rotor cap....does any one else have this issue? What could be the problem here?

Please help!

check your distributor cap and how the wireset is attatched, if its not sealed properly moisture can soak the pins and cause it not not fire correctly, also check for corrosion on your starter, if your getting alot of moisture in there it can cause it to foul when trying to crank over, also try checking the tubes on your plugs, if they are cracked moisture can seep in under the wireset head and soak the gapped area, i reccomend bosch irianium plugs, thier like $7.99 each butthey have thier own seal to prevent that :-)
