1990 626 coupe wheel size

Hello.
Would it be possible to fit 18" 8J wheels in 1990 (GD) 626 coupe? Diameter with very low tires could fit, but what about thickness? Now I have regular 15" 6,5J alloy wheels. Checked the gap between rear wheel and frame, and there is some space left, but what about front? Would it be possible to steer?
Thanks for answers if theres any.

I have used Tire Rack for recommendations for tires and wheels for various vehicles and have found them to be a reliable source. They have some 17 inch wheels for the 626 but I did not see any 18s. I did not spend a lot of time checking, and you may want to double check their website. It appears that they don't think an 18 inch wheel will work.
