1989 323 Alternator again
I have a 1989 323 no-turbo. I am ready to pull my hair out.
I am ready formy seventh alternator is the past FOUR years.
I am glad that Advance Auto (AA) Lifetime warrant these f***ers.
For the first four years it was a worn bearing.
But the last few seemed to last a week before the voltage regulator
Wears out. What could be causing this?
Now when you exchange your alternator at AA they take the new alternator
out of the box and hand it to you. They stick the core(warranty return) in the
box (to be sold to some other *******). This last time I noticed some
Documentation at the bottom. I read through it. It mentions modifying it
to fit some cars.
The harness fits my car with out issue.
But this document talks about shunting/jumpering/resist some of the pins together.
Has anybody hear of this before. Is it common? Should I have to rearrange pins
in the harness to prevent these things from dying?
If so why would the first four last a year? And the last two died in a week.
Here is a link to my replacement alternator

It is (re)made by World Wide Automotive Part number 14857
Can anybody make some suggestions?
Thank You in advance
