1987 323 Fuel Pump relay Location
Hi Folks, what's up? :p
I have a 87 old 323 that I just got to work on And the owner's menual is missing. I have been trying to find which of the relays is for the fuel pump and both fues and relay boxes don't indicate which one is for the fuel. Do any of you DYI folk out there know? Ty:) |
Are you sure it has a electric fuel pump and not a mechanical pump?

The 1987 323 has an electric fuel pump. If your car is a hatchback, in the rear compartment where the spare tire is located, to the left of the spare, is a safety reset switch for the fuel pump. It shuts off the fuel pump if the car is jarred in certain ways in an accident.

1987 323 fuel pump relay
Hello Friend
And ty all who tried to help:) What I realized is that when the car was built unlike any normal car, they didn't put a relay for fuel in main or inside fues boxes. What do I call this!? Three Stooges Engenieering:eek: So what I had to do was to the trunk, take out the left panel and disconest the wire from the plug!!! But hey, it has 184.000 miles on it's original engine. At 130.000 miles I had to do a head gasket job and valve job. So far engine compression during testing is 160! Not bad for it's age. Knock on wood it doesn't burn any oil either and engine doesn't seem to knock either. So I am happy so far:). Any of you are old to remember cars from the 70s that had bumppers!? Peace |
