Quiet Exhaust?

*This might be a stupid question but here it goes...*[&:]Iam looking to upgrade the exhaust on my 2001 Protege 2.0L. I'm not a huge fan of the giant tipped, extremely loud ones (if you know what I mean). What are some of my options? Would a quieter one give less of a performance boost than one of the louder ones? Also, where do you guys usually order your parts off of? Do they have pretty good prices? Thanks guys!!!

RE: Quiet Exhaust?

a quiet exhaust doen't necessarily mean less performance. my racingbeat on my rx7 is one of the quietest exhausts that i have seen on them and it has one of the highest performance ratings of all of the exhausts. check out these sites;

www.protegegarage.com
www.horsepowerfreaks.com
www.corksport.com

all have good selections and decent prices. you should look into either the racingbeat catback or the vibrant catback. the vibrant sounds better, IMO, but the racingbeat is quieter.
