Default Royal Pruple Oil

I have recently heard alot about 5-30 royal purple oil. Is this stuff really worth 7.75 a quart? Does it actually accomplish anything or is it just a way to spend more money?

Default RE: Royal Pruple Oil

I gave it a lot of thought and research and finally took the plunge and shelled out the money for 5 quarts of Royal Purple and a top of the line K & N filter. ouch!!! expensive oil change!!! But - - - I can tell you that my '92 b2600i truck runs noticably quieter and smoother and the lifter noise I had is almost gone - - - I'm amazed!!! Haven't used it long enough to check gas mileage so can't say about that but I plan to fill up tomorrow and it will be my first full tank since the oil change and I'll do the math and see what has happened. Hope it's good news because my truck gets terrible mileage - - - about 15 in the winter and 17 in the summer.
