Replace ATF at 130k, good or bad?
Hi,
I got a used 2009 Mazda 5, minivan. It's got a little over 130k miles on the automatic transmission. I don't know the history of the car so I don't know if the ATF ever been changed or flushed. It's working fine now.
I piked up some Idemitsu type M ATF, a transmission filter and pan gasket. Planning to replace the filter and only replace about half (4 quarts) of the ATF.
Has anyone regretted doing this?
Thanks,
DB

It is a straight forward not difficult DIY service and there are no done sides. While the pan is off you will be able to see if there is a residue on the valve body by simply wiping it with a clean white rag. If there is then consult a shop that specializes in transmissions and see what they recomend for you based on them seeing your vehicle first hand.
