Default Rear axle removal question

I have a 1988 Mazda b2600 4x4 in Australia and it has a leaking rear axle seal. I have a new seal to replace the old one but when I searched the internet to work out the easiest way to remove the axle I found my differential assembly does nor have the removable plate on the back of the housing. I’m sure there will be bolts behind the brake assembly that need to be removed and I assume the axle will slide out with the aid of a slide hammer. Once removed do I need to press off the wheel bearing to remove the axle seal. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Cheers Coops
