Default Parking sensors wiring

I just installed a tow hitch on my Mazda 3 2014 hatchback.
All is well, except with PDC. Front sensors are only working correctly when I'm NOT in reverse, and the rear sensors are not working at all.
The manual for the wiring was a little confusing.
This drawing suggests there are 2 wires going in, and 2 wires coming out, while in reality there were 8 going in and 3 coming out. http://prntscr.com/gyv3y6
Maybe I shouldn't take the number of wires shown on the drawing too litterally though...
I plugged the 2 wires for the tow hitch into sockets E and F, just as shown in the manual, but it's not working as it should.
Before I take half of my car apart again to go for trial and error: is there something I'm overlooking?
I hoped/expected I needed only look at the colors of the wires, but they don't match. Is it possible the wires going into that socket are pretty much random?

All help is appreciated!
