Mazda van mods, HELP, 12A???

G'day
I have a 'E' series 1400cc short wheel base van that my son and I both love. We have taken it on lots of adventures, including jumping trees and motorbike jumps, and the more we beat it the better it gets!
Tommorow we plan on servicing it and we were just wondering if anyone knows of any easy "home" mods we could do to coax a little more power from the beast? Or any mods at all for that matter??
Also if anyone knows anything about mazda rotary engines, i am thinking of putting a 12A in it, because it is a relatively simple easy to work on rotary. Or does anyone have any other thoughts on the matter?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers, Gareth, Matt and the Ralley van.

thats an interesting idea hope that works out oh and welcome to the forum, try posting your question in either the Mazda 5 section or general tech (you probably get more response in the General tech) but as for some simple but effective modes you can start with a short ram, then maybe a exhaust (it will be something differnt), and some headers, these will add some power plus save a little on gas.

Hello! From what I can tell, there is no good category for this van on this site right now. I am not familiar with this van but what I can tell it is mid engine and rear wheel drive.

Here is a pic of what I presume it looks like.
