Mazda Premacy (UK)
 

I have a 2001 Mazda Premacy 1.8 in the UK.

It needs a cambelt change.

Where can I get a manual.

Where is the best place to buy a cambelt kit - do I need to replace tensioners and pulleys/rollers.

Do the tappets ever need adjusting. At what mileage. Is this easy?

I am experienced on engines- done heads, other cambelts on vauxhalls etc.

Where is the fuel filter?

Is the 1.8 premacy engine used in other Mazdas or Fords?

It does have a cam belt they are replaced at 54,000 miles. You will also need to replace the tensioner with a new modified one and also the tensioner spring. services on those were done every 9,000 miles.

having much problems here in the uk trying to find ANYONE who knows anything about the premacy ice heard the engine is the same as the 636??

Ok So.. ive done some more investigating and on my 2.0 premacy it has a cam belt but only needs to be CHECKED at 54000 miles and to be changed at 91000, although it does need about everything else, brake fluids change, coolent change, gearbox oil change, new spark plugs, air filter, oil and filter and fuel so almost a rehaul.

The guy down at the mazda uk garage wants £475 to do this... ouch these are all things i can do myself, i have access to a pit and trade parts although yet to get prices. But I reall y need to find out more quantiys and types ect need a manual to tell me about it...

I`ve been told that the premacy 2003 first edition i has the running gear from a 323, So my question is when can i find a manual for that???

Hi Chris, Had a Premacy for 12 years and never found a manual for it.
There are some good videos on you tube of the job being done on a Mazda Protege and it is very similar, that's what I used and the job was straight forward.
