Default Mazda manual conversion advice

Hi everybody!!
I have a mazda familiar 1.6 dohc interplay that has been through a manual conversion.
Couple of things I would like to know if anybody can advise!

1 - What the hell does a flashing "hold" light mean on the dash?? I think it had something to do with od when it was automatic, but what does it mean now???

2 - The engine revs up between gear changes.. the clutch bites right at the top so i thought the clutch was on its way out... but now wondering if it has something to do with that od/hold light business, or the conversion in general?????

Cheers Everyone!!
Cadi

The HOLD light is usually indicative of a problem with the automatic transmission (it has a code stored). Since you have no automatic transmission, the light will blink unless you swap to an engine control computer that was made for a manual transmission car. You could always remove the light bulb.

I am not sure about your second question. How far do the RPMs go up? Are you sure it's not driving technique?
