The vast number of Mazda's I've work on over the last 19 or 20 years is the reason I've bought 3 Mazda's.

2006 Mazda Atenza sports wagon ( JDM Mazda 6 wagon import)
2012 Mazda 3 Maxx Sport
2016 Mazda CX-5 Maxx Sport

Having personally owned well over 100 vehicles I can't say that any one auto manufacture stood out. Even in High school I choose primarily Chevy but owned Mopars, Fords Pontiacs, Oldsmobiles etc...
As for Mazda I toyed with the early rotary engine models and the fugly looking coupes they were in. Ending up since 2019 with a Mazda was purely the choose of the color. We were in the market for a new daily driver and Ford Nissan and Honda were in the running. I almost bought the Ford because it was a quieter ride and seemed to handle better on a test drive same road and conditions I used to compare. But when we went to Mazda and the brand-new Mazda that still had delivery protection body protection was sitting waiting to be set up and detailed for the sales lot the sun hit the paint, and I was sold. LOL As for its short comings well that was easy for me to fix. And here I am 5 years later and still owning it. In the past most vehicle's, I owned only lasted a few months before I sold or traded them. The sad thing is starting in 2019 to present not one Mazda has my interest.

Default I had not thought of it that way...

but I suppose it was our Mazda 626 that got me on board. It was a great car for many years, and I cannot remember why I sold it.

Bought a new 606 in 1975, $3200. Made me a repeat buyer.

Bought a new Cosmo in 1976, $6200. Made me shun the brand for 50 years.
