Mazda Dome light won't go off, any ideas?

I thought my door switches were defective, but they are fine. Everytime I put the bulbs back in the dome light for my Mazda B2500 Pickup, 1998. They stay on all the time. Also the truck dings nonstop with the key in the accessory position. Are these two problems related? Any ideas on the fix?

Thanks,

Curt

i'm not familiar with the truck, but i've seen screws put through the vehicle wiring causing shorts. Might the key be seeing your door open when the key's in - so it dings? How did you check the door switches anyway.. hopefully you removed them to see they are clean, and if they are out and the light is still on it's definitely a short somewhere.
Does the interior dimmer switch have a 'full on' position? that could have been switched on by accident as well.

The dimmer switch does have a full on position and it works fine. Switches on and off. I took each switch out of the doors and cleaned them to make sure they are working. They all work but still the dome light stays on.

Any ideas?

it's the left front lower door switch. just take it out and clean it off with some brake cleaner and re-install it. it should be fine.

Where is the left front lower door switch located? I took out and cleaned the switch on the bottom of the latch mechanism. There was only one set of wires going to it.

Where is this second switch? Does it come out the same way?

Thanks,

Curt
