mazda doesn't crank
I have a Mazda 626, 4 cyl, 2001. The car doesn't crank when I turn on the ignition. The starter motor/solenoid checked out OK at an auto parts store (O'Reilly's). When I turn the key I can hear the solenoid click but the starter motor won't turn. Any suggestions as to the next step?

RE: mazda doesn't crank
make sure the battery is good and the connections are clean and tight. if all checks good then it's probably the starter.

RE: mazda doesn't crank
Low voltage or a poor ground would be my guess.
Check both the ground wire on the starter as well as your battery cables for any signs of corrosion build-up. |
RE: mazda doesn't crank
eliminate first that the starter isn't faulty buy simply giving it a few gentle taps on the side with a hammer or something else... if the car starts after that... theres your answer...
