Mazda 5 Engine Noise

What a roller coaster this has been, a few motnhs ago my Mazda 5 turbo diesel developed a loud squealing noise from the engine. Took it to Mazda and said it needed a new engine at wapping cost of £5000. I then took it to smaller garage who removed the engine and striped it down, they came back and told me it needed new crankshaft bearings and some sort of gear drive system for the oil pump. They called me a few weks later to inform me the car was ready but the noise was still there, I could'nt beleave what I was hearing, and they wanted £1500. I went down to get the car and started it up it sounded worse and was before, so after a long heated discussion I paid them a small amount of what they where asking. Off course I was back to square one with the car and trolling the internet for answers. I came acrose this guy, Hagans Autos in Northern Ireland who specializes in these engines, he had the car picked up and brought to Ireland, removed the engine and rebuilt it, reconed the turbo, removed the dpf system and delivered back all for £2000. Colin at Hagans Autos seems to a Mazda 5 and Mazda 6 anorak, he said one of the common problems with these engines is the gear which drives the oil pump wears and causes the engine failure. But anyway, my car is running better that ever, so I thought I would share my experince of this whole ordeal and hope non of you ever go through it, but if you do I recomend Hagans Autos .
