My mazda 3 has a dead battery due to being in storage for a few months and I guess I didn't go start it often enough.

I'd like to push it out of the garage so I can get it jump-started, but the gear won't shift out of park into neutral.

Any ideas???

i dont have a 3 but i think most cars have an anti-lock so you can move the gearshift around in case it needs to be towed without starting it. my honda had one right next to the gearbox.

Acually, that helped a lot - I just didn't know where to look for the release latch.
