mazda 3 hatch- door lock issue- locksmith

I have a 2008 mazda 3 hatch, and there is something wrong with my doors and locks. I cannot lock my car with my remote. I can unlock all doors with my remote EXCEPT for the front passenger side. The open door sign in my dash does not go away, and while my car is running I can’t lock any of my doors with the button in the door panel. Should I call a locksmith?

Don't call a lock smith. Replace the Front Passenger door lock assembly.

I dunno if a locksmith would cost more than replacing it.. I think a locksmith would be cheaper.

Locksmith can't help, unless he works autos on the side. The latch contains the switch that triggers the door ajar light. If the car thinks the door is open, it turns the light on and won't allow you to lock them. You need a latch.

If you want to replace the lock actuator, consider hiring a locksmith in your area. They will replace thr actuator at cheap.

You need to check the credentials of a locksmith before you decide to hire one. Check with a locksmith company whether it has the proper license, insurance, and certification. Online reviews on the company as well as feedback from clients would also be helpful. So, I prefer locksmith miami for any type of security or locking issue.
