Default Mazda 2 sport

Hi I’ve got a 14 plate Mazda 2 sport
i bought this from main dealer last February. I had an issue in may where the car wouldn’t start at all. It was completely dead but electric still went to dash, windows, radio & lights etc. It wouldn’t start off jump cables but would start first time off a push start.

Long stoey short the starter motor was replaced in June of last year and it has been absolutely fine. Few weeks ago the problem started again intermittently. But now it’s failing on every start (always starting off a push start, or if it’s being towed it’ll start off that but still not off jump cables.)

ive just replaced the battery, so I know it’s not that.
The starter motor was replaced in June 2017 and they’re so uncommon to fail now I don’t really believe that it is that.

i have the genuine Mazda keys, everything else works fine on the car.

Any suggestions?

Who replaced the starter? A Mazda dealer? They should have a minimum of 12 month parts warranty on it.

The part is not covered under a warranty. They have said it was was repaired under warranty - you can’t warranty a warranty repair (don’t even get me started on that!!)

Has it actually been diagnosed to be the new starter motor at fault?

No, that’s why I posted in here to see if it could be anything?
