losing power,idle problems

Hello everybody. Great site.

I have a 92 mpv v-6 with 230,000 miles.:D
The truck has run great until this week when it started to act up. When I am cruising down the street the engine will losepower all of a sudden. It feels like the timing has been retarted or the fuel flow restricted. If I step off the gas and then push back down itrevs up again and the engine is responsive again. The idle also will jump up to 3000 and then settle back down to around 600. It cranks great though and the problem is intermittent.
I have replaced the fuel pump and repaired a vacuum leak in the mass air flow hose but it hasn't helped. The computer won't give me any codes the check engine light just constantly burns.
The Air flow meter and idle control ohm out fine so I am stumped.
Sorry for the long post hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks for the help. David
